The duo performed at the International Performing Arts Festival (IPAF) last evening at Azad Bhawan in the Indian Council for Cultural Relations here.

The show was inaugurated by Sambit Patra, spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party.
“This whole universe is nothing but cosmic dance. Everything dances in accordance to the wish of the divine,” Patra said.

Neeraj Kumar, former Commissioner of Police, Delhi and Madhur Verma, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Delhi were also present at the occasion as guests.

IPAF seeks to encourage different art forms and holistic traditions through dance across boundaries and societies. It offers artistes performing dance forms of various nations with a platform and opportunity to showcase their culture and traditional values to the world.

“We firmly believe that the promotion of traditional arts through dance forms will be inviting and entertaining across the world. We envision the harmony of cultures by uniting performing arts of various cultures,” organisers said.

A special form of yoga called Vayu Yoga was performed by Acharya Suresh Dutt Sharma with his French dance partner.

The form of yoga is practised while being suspended in the air, by a silk hammock, often recreating the image of a mother’s womb.

Sharma performed the Shiv Shakti form of the yoga which is said to stimulate the fourth chakra of the human body, making the vibrations stronger and allowing a person’s heart to lead.

“Since I am a doctor and have a scientific bend of my mind, I can tell you, every part of our body, every single atom, every single cell of the body is in constant vibration,” Patra said.

The yoga-performing duo displayed awe-inspiring acrobatic feats with both their bodies coming together to create an illusion of a single entity at several instances.
