A foreign embassy car hit another vehicle and allegedly hit its driver again while trying to flee the spot near the Fortis Hospital in south Delhi’s Vasant Kunj on Saturday afternoon.

According to sources, the embassy car belonged to a consul at the embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Around 2.30 pm on Saturday, Anuj Gupta, manager at a restaurant in Gurgaon, had taken the Aruna Asaf Ali Road, when suddenly his car was hit by an Audi, bearing an embassy (blue) number plate near the Fortis Hospital.

After the incident, both drivers de-boarded the vehicles and entered into an altercation during which the accused driver reportedly misbehaved with Anuj and also his female colleague, who was travelling with him in his Honda Civic, said a police official.

He further said, when it turned into a heated argument, the person driving the Audi, boarded the vehicle again. He accelerated all of a sudden and hit Anuj, while feeling the spot.

Anuj also told police that when the Audi hit him, he accidentally boarded its bonnet and fell down around 15 feet ahead. ‘He had noted the registration number of the Audi and reported the incident to the police,’ the official added.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC and police said that they are investigating the case.
