EDMC to organise blood donation camp, 39 new cases reported

Deeply concerned with increasing number of dengue cases in its area, East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) has decided to organise a blood donation camp on Tuesday to pool in blood for patient suffering from dengue in its hospitals.

‘The corporation has decided to organised a blood donation camp on 30 October in which the officers, employees and leaders of the corporation along with volunteers will donate the blood for dengue patients admitted in the hospital of EDMC,’ said Y S Mann, Director, Press and Information of EDMC.

As per the data of the nodal centre for dengue and malaria of the MCD, the dengue entred late in EDMC area, but is spreading rapidly. Presently, Shahdara South Zone of EDMC records the highest 110 dengue cases among all the 12 zones of civic bodies in the city. The second zone of EDMC Shahdara North is also the third highest in the dengue cases in the city with 72 patients. The second among the zones in South Delhi with 105 cases of dengue.

Meanwhile, dengue continued to spread fast in the national capital with 39 patients testing positive for the mosquito-borne disease on Thursday.
