Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU), Delhi University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) and Delhi University and College Karmchari Union (DUCKU) will launch a joint struggle against Dinesh Singh. While demanding his resignation, they argued that ‘the university can’t function in democratic manner as long as VC is there.’

‘During a discussion, all associations agreed that it will not be possible to restore rule of law in the university as long as Dinesh Singh holds the post. Hence we have decided to launch a joint struggle for his removal,’ said Nandita Narain, president of DUTA.

She further alleged that the ‘authoritarian’ VC has taken anti-students and anti-teachers decision during his tenure. The joint protest will also focus on issue of revaluation of answer sheets. They will also demand special chance for the students, who could not complete their degree on time owing to the unavoidable circumstances.

‘The provision of supplementary examinations had been scrapped by VC a year ago in a most undemocratic manner. It has adversely affect career of thousands of students,’ said Nandita.
