Delhi University’s Train Gyanodaya Express will take NCC cadets and physically-challenged students on a 5-day journey to Rajasthan on 29 September.
C S Dubey, Head of Department, Geology, Centre for Advanced Studies, said, ‘The train will be flagged of from the Delhi Cantonment Railway Station on Saturday, around 8 pm. As many as 900 students and 100 teachers will be a part of the journey.’
Dubey added that on an earlier trip, only the girls had gone but this time, the doors of the Gyanodaya Express have been opened for the boys as well. The students will first go to Bikaner in Rajasthan and then to Jodhpur, where students will be given two days to observe and study geography, agriculture, language and literature of Rajasthan and to interact with locals.
Then the train will move to Jaisalmer city and return on 5 October.
Dubey said students will also interact with soldiers of the country during the trip.
