Three students, including one from University of Delhi (DU), were arrested here for chain snatching on Monday, police informed.
Jitendra, Kapil Kumar and Deepak, all aged 20 and residents of Bhondsi village, were arrested. Jitendra is a first year student of BA (Bachelor of Arts) at a DU-affiliated college. The other two studies in Gurgaon.
Jitendra was arrested on Sunday from Jharsa road in Sector 15, when he was trying to escape after snatching a chain. Kapil and Deepak were arrested later.
‘The accused wanted to buy a car and decided to snatch chains to collect money. They were involved in five chain snatching cases in the last two months,’ said police officer Dalbir Singh. They were presented before the court of duty magistrate on Monday and sent to police custody for two days.
