As the heat around roll back of FYUP gains momentum, the University of Delhi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Skill Development Corporation to impart industrial training to all the students of FYUP in order to make them ‘job ready’.
Calling it a ‘landmark’ step, the statement from the university read the training will help students acquire special skills for jobs and entrepreneurship and will be in tune with their respective course.
The training, to be given during third and fourth year will be provided in sectors of banking, financial services, insurance, information technology, health care, media, tourism, hospitality and automotive industry.
The university will also charge a nominal fee of Rs 2,500 per semester for the training. It has also assured placement for at least 70 per cent if the students who undergo training in the mentioned sectors.
The university has also signed an additional MoU for skill based training in which students will be trained during their summer vacations. A nominal fee shall also be charged which is refundable upon successful completion of the training.
