‘DU fails students by mistake’

On one hand, Delhi University is trying to compete with the global standards of education, on the other hand, blatant mistakes in the mark sheets of students has put a stain on its credibility.

The blunder in the results of the final year students has created insurmountable problems for the university as well as the students.

A BSc final year student of Acharya Narendra Dev College, requesting anonymity, said he had passed all exams according to the result list published by DU, but when he received the mark sheet, he was failed in one of the subjects. By the, he had already taken admission in postgraduation and deposited a fee of Rs 12,000.

He then went to Vice-Chancellor Dinesh Singh with his problem. The V-C assured him that he will look into the matter.

Sources in Delhi University said, ‘There have been 900 complaints registered related to examinations this year. Of them, 500 have been successfully solved.

‘115,000 students appeared for the examination. Clerical mistakes were found in many cases,’ said sources.
