DU colleges release second cut-off list

The Delhi University (DU), on Monday, announced the second cut-off list for admission to its colleges, with Kirori Mal College (KMC) and Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) taking an early lead and releasing its cut-off list at around 8 pm.

There is a marginal dip in the second list as expected since many colleges have already admitted the students and seats have become  full.  In both the colleges, the dip in cut-off across courses ranges from 0.5-1 per cent for Humanities and Commerce.

The science courses has seen a higher dip ranging between 1- 2 per cent. At SRCC, for Economics (Hons), the cut-off is at 97.75% a dip of 0.5%. For B Com (Hons) the cut-off has come down to 97.50% from 98%. SRCC till Saturday was able to fill up 325 seats for B Com (Hons), and  35 seats are still left for Economics. At the KMC, for Humanities courses the highest cut-off dip is for BA programme at 1.5%. The cut-off now stands at 95%. For other courses the dip is of 0.5-1%. Admission for BA (Hons) History has already closed. However, the cut-off for Humanities  courses in the college is still at 95% and above.

Even at Shivaji College, the cut-off for Science courses has seen a dip of 2%. Botany’s cut-off is now 91%, a dip of 2% and for Zoology it is 92% from 94% in the first list. Ramanujan College, an off campus institution in South Delhi’s Kalkaji, has already released a second list with a maximum decrease of just 1% across courses. It closed admissions to B Com (Pass) and B Com (Hons) after seats were taken up in the first round of admissions that ended on Saturday, despite high cut-offs of 92% and 95%, respectively.

On the basis of the first cut-off, Ramanujan College in the South Campus has closed its admissions for B.Com. Honours and B.Com. programmes for general category candidates.
