Police arrested a notorious criminal from Kaliachak area on Monday morning. The accused, Tunu Bosni, has been involved in various crimes in various parts of Malda. Bosni had been absconding for a long time.
Acting on a tip-off, a special team of the district police raided a house in the Kaliachak area of Malda on Monday and arrested the accused from there. It may be mentioned that Bosni had been involved in various criminal activities and there were many cases registered against him at several police stations.
The district police have started a massive raid in various parts to nab various other criminals in the area. They added that there were several charges of murder, snatching, abduction, possession of illegal arms among others against the accused in various police stations in the district.
Police have found a considerable amount of success as they have already arrested several dreaded criminals. To curb the criminal activities throughout the district, police have started cracking down on the hideouts of criminals and many other known places.
The move was initiated to normalise the law and order situation in the state. It may be mentioned that administrations in all districts are on their toes after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asked the top brass to maintain the law and order situation.
It may be noted that North 24 Parganas police have arrested around 10 Bangladeshi nationals in two separate incidents who had illegally intruded into the country.
