The parents of a 22-year-old woman in Noida alleged that she was electrocuted by her in-laws for dowry on Wednesday morning. Soon her parents took the body and kept at Hoshiyarpur intersection and blocked the traffic for several hours demanding arrest of husband and other relatives. Family claimed it to be a case of dowry death and on their complaint an FIR was registered at sector 58 police station.

According to the police, deceased was identified Mamta Yadav, who got married to Aadesh, a resident of Ghari village six months back. Family claims that at the time of wedding family spent enough money and also give marriage gifts according to their capacity. Soon after the marriage Mamta’s husband and in-laws started demanding more money.

Her father Tara Yadav alleged that they also assaulted her and forced her to bring more dowry. As they failed to arrange the money she was killed on Wednesday. “We got a call from her in-law’s house that Mamta got electrocuted and she died. When we reached no one was in the house and Mamta was dead. Her husband and other relatives are behind her death,” said one of his family member.

Family kept her body at Hoshiyarpur crossing at Sector 71 which connects Noida extension to Noida and blocked the traffic for several hours. Police were informed about the incident but came only after traffic piled up during the officer hour.
