National Security Advisor AK Doval on Tuesday arrived in the city on a two-day visit to take stock of security in Kashmir in the wake of reports suggesting radicalisation of the youth expressed through unfurling of flags of Islamic State and other militants groups.

Doval arrived here this morning and called on Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed at his residence, official sources said. Security related issues were on the agenda of the meeting between the Chief Minister and the National Security Advisor, the sources said adding the exact details of what transpired between the two was not known. They said hoisting of flags of outfits like Islamic State and Lashkar-e-Toiba and emergence of “home grown” militants, especially in south Kashmir region were likely issues to have come up during the discussions.
