US President-elect Donald Trump on Friday pledged that his administration “will do everything” to keep the scourge of terrorism out of America, and called for uniting the country by rejecting bigotry and prejudice.
Kicking off his first post-election victory rally from the key battleground State of Ohio, Trump mentioned about the recent car-and-knife attack at the Ohio State University, saying it “fully illustrates” the security problems caused by “stupid politicians” and an immigration system that fails to screen out dangerous, would-be terrorists.
“We will do everything in our power to keep the scourge of terrorism out of our country,” Trump said in his address to thousands of his supporters in Cincinnati.
“People are pouring in from regions of the Middle East. We have no idea who they are, where they are, what they are thinking. And we are going to stop that dead cold flat. You just take a good look at what just happened in your state,” he said.
