Parliamentary Secretary to the CM, CLP spokesperson and fourth-term legislator Mukesh Sharma, on Sunday, stated that Delhi government has chalked out a comprehensive and ambitious plan to lay sewer lines in almost all unauthorised colonies in Delhi in order to ensure a clean atmosphere for the 40 lakh residents awaiting comfortable and healthy life.
As per the plan, Rs 230 crore has been sanctioned to lay the sewer lines in Bindapaur- Mohan Garden group of colonies under Uttam Nagar assembly segment.
Area MLA Sharma has been using his good offices in getting the plan approved and the issuance of the tenders, likely to be out next week.
Sharma added that the work would be taken up on war footing basis to complete it at the earliest. The plan for Uttam Nagar colonies was approved at a DJB meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
Sharma stated this in a workers convention at Aryasamaj Road, Uttam Nagar. The sewer lines would also be laid in the nearby Sainik Vihar, Maharani Enclave and Rajan Vihar.
Sharma stated that the sewer lines would be connected with trunk sewer lines at Dwarka and further with an interceptor.
The MLA stated that in the Bindapur and Mohan Garden, a group of over 100 colonies are set to see all round development as two community centers costing Rs five crore in all, would have many storeys, lifts and spacious halls for the social gatherings and marriage functions.
