DJB installs instrument to remove ammonia from water

Update: 2016-03-23 00:52 GMT
Having witnessed instances of water treatment plants being shut down, Delhi Jal Board on Wednesday installed an instrument that will remove ammonia from water which will help uninterrupted functioning of plants.

There had been several instances in the past two months when the Wazirabad and Chandrawal water treatment plants of Delhi Jal Board (DJB) had to be shut down due to excess ammonia in raw water sourced from the Yamuna river, predominantly due to industrial discharges in Haryana.

Both CM Arvind Kejriwal and Water minister Kapil Mishra expressed happiness over the development.
