The Delhi Jal Board( DJB) on Sunday commissioned its new peripheral water main line in South Delhi. Commissioning of this water main line will immediately benefit a large areas in South Delhi including Sadhana Enclave, Savitri Nagar, Sheikh Sarai ph-1, Soami Nagar and Chiragh Delhi Village.
It was inaugurated by Delhi Jal Board’s vice-chairman Kapil Mishra in the presence of the officers of DJB and representatives of Malviya Nagar Water services Private limited.
“The length of this new peripheral water main line is 3.5 kilometer and its runs from the Malviya Nagar Booster Pumping Station to Chiragh Delhi. The total cost of the project is Rs 4 Crore,” said a senior officer of DJB.
“The engineers of the DJB have worked overnight to ensure that the project is completed in a record time and the benefits of the project reach the people in the summer season. It will lead to improvement in water pressure and will also take water to the new areas,” Mishra said.
It will supply 10 million litres of water per day about 50,000 residents of the area. Water will be supplied through this water main line from from Malviya Nagar UGR for six hours a day, three hours in the morning and three hours in the evening.
