On Monday at around 11.30 am, when on the one hand, party convener Arvind Kejriwal was making an announcement to accept Congress’ support, the party on the other hand uploaded a video on its Facebook page in which Kejriwal clarified that AAP is against both the Congress and the BJP.
‘We got two types of response, some people said keep away from both BJP and Congress, while others said form the government and prove that we can deliver. People are passionate about both views so we asked 26 lakh people in Delhi and we bow before the people’s decision. Yes we are forming a minority government with outside support,’ Kejriwal said.
‘What is a minority government? No ministry will be given to the Congress. It will not be part of the government. We will take action against any previous corrupt ministers of Congress and BJP and we will implement the 18 promises,’ said Kejriwal in the video.
Responding to BJP’s accusations that AAP and the Congress have a secret deal, Kejriwal said, ‘If we don’t form the government, they say we are running away. If we form the government, they say we are the B-team of Congress. We don’t think of the Congress and the BJP. We think of only the common man. Our focus is on solving people’s problems.’
Earlier, both the Congress and BJP had attacked AAP for refusing to form the government, saying it was shying away from the responsibilities knowing that it cannot fulfil the promises such as cutting the power tariff by 50 per cent and providing 700 litres of free water daily to each household in the city.
