Delhi BJP has snubbed the tariff hearing of Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) and called it just an eye-wash. ‘DERC seems to have already made up its mind to increase the power tariff in the city. The hearing on power tariff is just a formality as people who have sent their objections are not invited for discussion,’ said Vijay Goel, Delhi BJP president.
‘Earlier, DERC used to hold a public hearing on the issue but this time they are mostly doing it through a circular,’ added Goel.
He further alleged that he himself had applied, but had not been called for the hearing. Goel will now lead a delegation to meet the members of the commission on Monday.
‘We will stage a dharna near the public hearing site on Monday as its clear that DERC has made up its mind to increase the already skyrocketing power tariff in the city,’ added Goel.
He alleged that the government is in connivance with power distributing companies and DERC, to increase the power tariff in the city.
