In a tragic incident in Outer Delhi's Paschim Vihar, a 40-year-old woman was crushed to death by a speeding tempo on Thursday morning.
The woman was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi hospital where she was declared brought dead.
The incident happened at around 11:50 am when Ramlata was riding pillion with her husband who was driving the scooter.
As soon as they reached Subham Enclave, their two-wheeler was hit by a speeding tempo.
Following this, the woman fell off and came under the wheels of the tempo.
Immediately, some locals gathered at the spot and tried to help the victims. Local policemen were also informed by the locals.
The cops rushed the lady to Sanjay Gandhi hospital but she was declared brought dead by the doctors.
In the accident, the husband of the deceased, Sushil Garg, also sustained some minor injuries.
The tempo driver managed to flee the spot and is still absconding.
The cops have identified the tempo owner and are questioning him on the whereabouts of the absconding driver.
"We have registered a case under relevant sections. The driver has been identified and will soon be nabbed," said a senior police officer.
