Two minors among four held for murder of bizman in Khoda

Ghaziabad: Four persons, including two minors, were apprehended on Wednesday in connection with the murder of a 35-years-old businessman in Khora area of Ghaziabad earlier this month.

Police said that the victim, 35-year-old Deepak Goyal, had been found dead inside his house with several stab marks in his neck caused by a sharp knife by the culprits.

The incident occurred in Himalya Vihar colony on the intervening night of August 10 and 11.

According to police, the arrested men have been identified as Rahul Rotella and Bobby, who along with some others stabbed Goyal as he suspected them of committing robbery at his godown.

"We received a call on the night of August 10 about the murder, after which a case was registered at Khora police station and teams were formed to nab the accused," said Vaibhav Krishan, Senior Superintendent of Police (Ghaziabad).

On Tuesday night, acting on a tip, all the four accused were nabbed from Ambedkar Nagar gate in Khora colony.

"During interrogation, the accused persons said they lived in victim's neighbourhood and had committed a robbery of Rs two lakh at his godown. No complaint was filed in the case, but he always suspected them and kept an eye on their movement. Eventually, they planned to kill him," said Krishan.

"They entered Goyal's house with the help of a ladder. On hearing the noise, Goyal woke up. The two parties had a scuffle and later Rahul and Gaurav, both of whom are absconding, stabbed him in thehis neck and fled the spot," said Krishan.

Police have recovered the knife used in the crime.
