New Delhi: Delhi Police on Thursday said that they have arrested a Trichi based Thak Thak thief in Mandir Marg area.
Police said that the accused attempted to commit theft of toys from the vendor. According to police on April 16 at about 8.15 pm, they nabbed the accused on Shaheed Bhagat Singh Road when they saw him running after committing the crime. His identity was revealed as Akilan.
"One Rajneesh (a vendor selling toys on the roadside) reported that the Akilan attempted to commit theft of toys from his bag kept near him on which he raised an alarm and the person was caught by the police," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Madhur Verma.
Police said that the accused Akilan came to Delhi with his gang leader Dinakaran to commit crime.
Man duped of money:
In North East Delhi's Nand Nagri police station, a case was registered in which the complainant said that he was cheated of more than one lakh rupees by a person who claimed himself as bank agent.
According to police, before duping, the suspect told the complainant that he can increase his credit card limit.
After winning the confidence of the victim, the suspect told the complainant to share the OTP which had came in his phone. "Victim trusted him and shared the OTP. Later, victim got the message in his phone claiming that over one lakh rupees duped. The suspect brought jewellery of the money," police said
