Abhay SinghNew Delhi: Two brothers were arrested for killing a man with iron rods and sticks in Delhi Cantt area.
Police claimed that one of the accused wanted to establish his career in cricket and was impressed with cricketer MS Dhoni but despite his all possible efforts he could not enter Delhi State Team. Frustrated over this, he opted crime. According to police, the accused were identified as Vijay (25) and Vishal (30). They were arrested on December 10 on the basis of an information that they would come near Dwarka Metro station on a Scooty to meet someone.
During the investigation, police team found that on July 17 a person was admitted to the hospital with grievous injuries.
Police claimed that the victim was identified as Aakash who succumbed to his injuries during treatment and his brother Sunny got recorded his statement as complainant claiming that the accused with their associates assaulted and seriously injured his brother with iron rods and wooden sticks. While other accused persons were arrested in the case, Vijay and his brother Vishal evaded their arrests by constantly changing their location and mobile numbers. Their arrests were finally made by the special staff team of Dwarka district formed under the close supervision of ACP Aditya Gautam led by SI Naveen Kumar.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Shibesh Singh stated that the criminals were active members of Gaurav Jhareda, infamous for notorious activities in Delhi Cantt area. Vijay completed his graduation from DU. He has been fond of cricket and represented school, college and also played at the district level. He wanted to establish his career in cricket and was impressed with cricketer MS Dhoni.
"He adopted the look of MS Dhoni. Despite his all possible efforts, he could not enter Delhi State Team. This frustrated him and he started working for the gang," said the DCP. Police further claimed that the other accused Vishal is the elder brother of Vijay. He has a strong build and wanted to become a bodybuilder but did not have enough money for his dream. He was doing private jobs but left the job due to insufficient salary and rejoined gyms.
