Thief sold bikes stolen from Delhi in UP between Rs 5,000-10,000

New Delhi: A 25-year-old bike thief, arrested from Neb Sarai area of south Delhi on Friday, has revealed to police how high-end two-wheelers stolen from Delhi are sold in Uttar Pradesh for a few thousands of rupees.
Police said that the accused Mushir Khan, a resident of Sangam Vihar, could unlock any motorcycle in a few minutes, with a master key.
With Khan's arrest, South District police have solved eight cases of motor-vehicle theft and recovered five stolen two-wheelers as well as the master key used for the theft. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Vijayanta Arya stated that he was arrested during police checking at Shani Bazar area of Devli.
"On the revelations of the apprehended person, five stolen motorcycles were recovered from his hideouts in District Badaun, UP, and a total of eight cases of MV Theft were solved," said Arya.
She further claimed that the accused had come to Delhi in search of work as a plumber and had been residing in a rented accommodation in Sangam Vihar for the last two months.
"To earn easy money, he stole a bike from Neb Sarai and sold the same in his native village in Badaun district for Rs 5,000," said the DCP.
Police also claimed that eventually, the accused started stealing new and trendy bikes every week and sold them to local residents in his village and other nearby areas, for anywhere between Rs 5,000 and 10,000.
A police team, led by Neb Sarai station house officer Inspector Kuldeep Singh, made the arrest.
