NEW DELHI: He would have been a next door tailor in Delhi's Welcome area with his 10 stitching machines if he had not fallen in love. As soon as he fell for a girl, he needed more money to impress her and hence resorted to looting traders of Gandhi Nagar and Tank road. Twenty-four-year-old Mujeeb was arrested by Delhi Police special cell from Delhi. He was wanted in several cases of armed robbery with his gang members.
When Delhi police after an interrogation with the arrested robbers got the name of Mujeeb, he went into hiding and shifted his base to Ahmadabad. The police got a tip-off as soon as he contacted some of his associates as they were released from jail. As the police team travelled to Ahmadabad he came to Delhi's UP border and was reviving his gang. Special cell arrested him after secret information.
He came to Delhi from Sambhalin Moradabad and joined his uncle at Tank road and learnt to stitch. In 2009, he started a stitching job work by installing 10 stitching machines in Welcome area and started job work for Gandhi Nagar and Tank Road Jeans traders. "During his stay in Delhi, he fell in love with a girl and aspired to earn lot of money to impress her. Meanwhile, he came to know that traders of Gandhi Nagar and Tank Road used to carry cash with them. He formed a gang including members of Moradabad and started robberies," said PS Kushwah, DCP Special Cell.
