SDMC Mayor Shyam Sharma inaugurated a newly-built disaster management centre in Dwarka on Tuesday, equipped with all facilities to provide training to rescue and relief personnel dealing with disaster management.
It also has a large number of videos depicting activities of the same. Sharma added that Delhi is situated in Zone 4 and hence the city is prone to earthquakes. In addition to this, the accidents, fire tragedies, building collapses and terrorist activities can also create a situation where disaster management maybe an absolute necessity.
Sharma added that the team has been fully trained to take up any challenge arising out of a disaster. Rs 1.73 crore has been spent to construct the centre.
