The heavy thunderstorm on Wednesday night had surely relieved people of the heat but sadly took the life of an innocent six year old girl.

Saina was sleeping with her family in the slum house when the heavy wind caused the wall of a nearby under construction building to collapse on them, killing Saina and injuring three of his family members in Sarfabad village of Noida in the wee hours of Thursday.

Usman, a labourer, lived with his family in the slums of Sarfabad village. The heavy thunderstorm forced the wall of the seventh floor in a half constructed building to fall on them. The incident left the whole family with serious injuries while Saina succumbed to death during treatment.

Usman, his wife Sukesh and his two years old son Sakib were later discharged from the hospital after getting treatment.

"As soon as the incident was reported to us, we rushed to the spot. All the victims were taken to Kailash Hospital where Saina was declared dead by the doctors while other people who got injured were discharged after getting treatment. They suffered minor injuries. Our investigations are on," said Bijendra Bhadana, Station House Officer, Sector 49 police station.

Apart from this, tree falls at several places in the city were witnessed which caused a problem for the commuters and resulted in traffic snarls. Though hardly any major damage was caused due to them but power cuts and traffic snarls were commonly witnessed on Thursday morning.
