In two separate incidents of robbery, that took place on Wednesday in Kasna and Badalpur areas, robbers fled with cash worth Rs 14 lakh. The thieves robbed a bank and an officer of another bank in the two incidents.
In the first incident, the miscreants looted Rs 12 lakh from Kasna branch of UCO Bank. The robbers fearlessly entered the bank and threatened the staff at gun point. They were wearing helmets and jackets and entered the bank during the working hours. The robbery was carried out in just a few minutes.
They fled in the car of the bank's manager whom the robbers threatened and forced to hand over the car keys. It seems like they were keeping a watch on all the activities of the bank since morning as they asked the manager to handover the keys to them.
This branch of UCO bank is just a few metres away from the police station.
"Our investigation is on and we are yet to ascertain how many robbers were involved in it. We are checking the footage that has been taken from the bank and will carry out further investigation.
Also, we have taken down the descriptions of the assailants," said Dr Arun Kumar Singh, Circle Officer, Greater Noida.
"We have details of the car in which the assailants fled and are searching nearby areas to track them. We have registered a case and further investigation is on," added Singh.
In another incident, a collection officer of Jan Lakshmi Bank was robbed in Badalpur area by throwing chilli powder into his eyes. The two miscreants fled with cash
worth Rs 2 lakh. Police are clueless about the identity of the robbers while a case has been registered.
