South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Monday announced renaming of a road after one of the two firemen who sacrificed his life while saving people trapped when a cylinder blast happened in Vikaspuri. Hari Om Gahlot lost his life in the incident. A road from Najafgarh to Kakrola village will be known as Shahid Hari Om Gahlot Marg. SDMC Mayor Shyam Sharma said the decision was taken after Councillor Shashi Tomar gave a written request for the purpose. "He sacrificed his life for saving others' property and lives.
He did a brave work earlier as well when a BSF plane crashed in Dwarka in December 2015; Gahlot single-handedly took out seven bodies from the wreckage," he said. Sharma also visited the house of the deceased to convey his condolences.mpost
