The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) along with Gautam Buddh Nagar police arrested two more aides — Ashok Tiwari and Ashish Shukla — of rape accused Samajwadi Party minister Gayatri Prajapati on Tuesday. Gayatri Prajapati is accused of raping a woman. The duo was arrested following a tip-off and they will now be taken to Lucknow for further investigation.

The Lucknow Police have already arrested his gunner Chandrapal Singh on Monday. Police are now trying to interrogate them to extract information about his whereabouts and the rest of his accomplices.

"We received a tip-off that Prajapati is staying in an area of Delhi-NCR and he will flee to some other place via Yamuna Expressway on Monday night. A police team was sent to Yamuna Expressway and along with Jewar police, we arrested the duo from Jewar toll plaza. These two people were among the seven named by the woman for raping her. Prajapati is absconding and our search is still on," said Raj Kumar Mishra, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Special Task Force.

Prajapati is contesting as a Samajwadi Party's candidate from Amethi constituency, where polls are over. The woman has alleged that Prajapati had raped her when she met him three years ago. She alleged that she was raped after making her unconscious by giving a tea laced with a sedatives. She said Prajapati allegedly photographed her and then threatened to make them public and continued to rape her for two years. She has also accused Prajapati of attempting to rape her minor daughter.

However Prajapati denied the charges terming it a political conspiracy of the BJP and said that he did not know the victim. He thus approached Supreme Court for relief from his arrest which was rejected by the Apex Court. Prajapati's passport has also been revoked for four weeks to prevent him from attempting to flee out of the country.
