NEW DELHI: It was just a matter of chance that the two policemen present at Bhatia Marg in Uttam Nagar searched a car and found a pistol from the dashboard of the car. The cops inquired about the weapon which the driver said was illegal and he was arrested.
During the interrogation, it was revealed that the accused identified as Pawan Kumar was wanted in several cases of snatching and robberies in the area.
Kumar confessed that he kept the weapon to scare the victims.
"The accused claimed that he needs money for treatment of his son and that is why he arranged weapon to threaten the victim at the time of committing crime," said DCP Dwarka, Anto Alphonse .
He was wanted in 10 cases of robbery and 16 cases of snatching. Police said that a woman was robbed on October 16, in the evening hour, an incident of theft took place in the vicinity of Vinobha Bhawe Enclave, Najafgarh.
The victim lady was going to her house with her child but accidentally her purse containing one gold chain weighing 02 Tola, a pair of earring and some cash slipped from her hand and two-person coming in a white scooty lifted the same and fled away from there .
