Gurugram: Parents of over 300 students at Global High School in Sector-57 are at present having a harrowing time as they have been served a notice by the school management, saying that the school will be closed.
Citing that their licence of operation was coming to an end, Global High School gave notice to the parents asking them to shift their wards to other schools.
Highlighting that this is one more tactic by the school to harass the parents and make them pay more fees, the parents have begun protesting over the school's non-transparent tactics.
They have also highlighted that they will not withdraw their wards from the school and if required, they will take the matter to higher officials.
Earlier, the schools have operated under different names in order to get licences.
Various schools on the pretext of upgrading the facilities and implementation of seventh pay commission had increased their school fees. This has led to thousands of parents protesting against such schoolss not only in Gurugram but also in Delhi.
"We hope that public agencies rein in such schools. Lack of action by authorities has resulted in these schools running an education mafia, where middle class parents are financially exploited as they do not have any option. It's a pity that 20 private schools have the audacity to dictate terms to the government," said Mahima Yadav, an aggrieved parent.
The sorry state of affairs of Gurugram's education system has resulted in many parents admitting their children to Delhi's schools.
