New Delhi: A letter has been sent to Delhi University authorities over the vacancy of numerous posts at different colleges in Delhi University (DU), due to non-appointment of these posts. Colleges affiliated with DU have no principal in various colleges, while there is no governing bodies in these colleges for the last nine months. According to DU professor Hansraj Mehta, "The Delhi government had sent a list of people to the governing body many times, but it has not been sent back or passed through, due to which the plans of teachers, staff and students have been stalled." Meanwhile, DU's Zakir Husain Delhi College Evening and Mata Sundri College for Women have taken out vacancy for various posts.
On the other hand, Mehta informs the Millennium Post that there are no governing bodies as of now and about 24 posts of principal, 2,000 teachers and 1,000 non-teaching posts are vacant. A notice was given to the university that the said posts be filled by March 2020, however, no action has been taken as of now.
There are 28 colleges under the Delhi government, there are also a dozen such colleges which are running temporarily or with the help of OSD principals. "Due to the absence of a governing body in these colleges, appointments to the principal posts have not been made. Even though there is no governing body, the Tranquetted Governing Body has removed advertisements for the posts of principals and teachers," said Mehta.
Colleges that have vacancies include — Sri Aurobindo College, Aurobindo College (evening), Motilal Nehru College, Motilal Nehru College Sandhya, Bhagat Singh College, Bhagat Singh College (Evening), Satyavati College, Satyavati College, Rajdhani College, Vivekananda College, Swami Shraddhanand College, Bharti College, Gargi College, Maitreyi College, Indra Ghandhi Physical Education, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Sister Nivedita College.
