Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Founder-Member Kumar Vishwas on Tuesday accused its leaders of conspiring against him but made it clear that he would not compromise on his principles and would soon take a call on his future course of action.
"I know I will be targeted. Efforts to tarnish my image will be made. But let me tell those conspirators that I will not allow you to do so," Kumar Vishwas told reporters without, however, citing any names.
Responding to the charges by a section of the AAP leadership that he was trying to bargain for himself the party convenor's post, Vishwas shot back, "I have already said 10 times and even to Arvind (Kejriwal) and Manish (Sisodia) and the party that I don't want to be the chief minister, deputy chief minister or AAP convenor."
He also said that he would not join any other political party or the Swaraj Aandolan floated by expelled AAP member Yogendra Yadav.
Unable to bear the continuous verbal and mental pressure exerted by AAP leaders, Vishwas broke down while talking to reporters. "I don't know why you are here... but I had not joined the movement for this."
Meanwhile, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia slammed Vishwas for making statements to the media about the ongoing AAP infighting in the wake of the party's complete rout in the Punjab and Goa state elections, Rajouri Garden Assembly by-poll and Delhi civic polls.
"Rather than making statements on TV channels, Vishwas should raise his concerns within party fora," Sisodia told reporters. He claimed that Vishwas had never been asked to apologise for the video he had released after the disrespect shown to soldiers in Kashmir last month.
"No one in the party asked Kumar Vishwas to apologise. He made it personal. The party does not belong to Arvind (Kejriwal), to me or to Kumar (Vishwas) but it belongs to lakhs of workers in India and abroad," Sisodia told reporters at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence.
He added that intra-party differences should not be turned into personal issues.
"I along with Sanjay Singh had gone to meet him. He did not come to the PAC yesterday (Monday). He is making remarks in the media which are lowering the morale of the party cadre and everyone knows who is getting benefited," Sisodia said.
