Delhi Police have arrested a bootlegger who was trying to lure a four-year-old girl at Vijay Vihar in Rohini district. The accused, identified as Naresh, has been involved in two similar cases and was convicted by a Delhi court in 2014.
"We have arrested a sex maniac who used to kidnap little girls and abuse them sexually. He was arrested earlier too. Today (Monday) he was caught trying to lure a four-year-old girl," said DCP (Rohini) M N Tiwari.
According to police, on February 6, at about 11.12 am, a PCR Call was received at Vijay Vihar police station regarding the kidnapping of minor girl. The investigating officer Virender Singh along with the ERV staff rushed to the spot.
"The girl was with the accused when we arrested him. The mother of the girl reported that she used to iron clothes in Rohini. Her daughter was playing a few metres from where she was working during the time of the incident side," police said.
She saw that the accused was trying to kidnap the girl and raised an alarm.On hearing her screams, the public caught hold the accused and made a PCR call.
Later on, the accused was identified as Naresh a resident of Vijay Vihar. Accordingly, an FIR was registered in PS Vijay Vihar under the kidnapping and POCSO Acts.
Police further claimed that the accused was interrogated who confessed to his crime and also disclosed that he is a bootlegger and was previously involved in two similar cases in which he was convicted by the court in the year 2014.
Further investigation is on to identify more victims.
