Noida Extn DPS' principal, 4 teachers may face trial over student's death
School principal along with four teachers of DPS World School, Noida Extension could face a criminal trial over the death of 7-year-old, Class II student, Ghazal Yadav, in the school premises said police officials.
On Tuesday, Ghazal Yadav participated in a karate belt grading competition which was organised in the school. Ghazal was felicitated for her good performance by the school. Soon after the competition, she complained of a severe headache to her class teacher. The child was taken to a private hospital in Greater Noida, where she succumbed during treatment. Ghazal use to live in Stellar Jeevan society of Greater Noida West. The whole society is mourning over the death of the child.
Ghazal's parents highlighted the sheer negligence of the school administration and alleged that the school administration delayed in providing aid to Ghazal. Ghazal's father Lal Chand Yadav said he was in office when he received a call from his wife to rush to Kailash Hospital. "By the time I reached the hospital, Ghazal had already died. Doctors told me she was brought dead."
Amidst the student's death, the parents along with the relatives and the residents of the society are protesting and demanding for justice. A Social media campaign demanding for justice is also being carried out by them. Ghazal's mother Savita Yadav has also posted a video on Facebook highlighting the carelessness of the school and pleading for justice. The parents also claimed that the school is working on clearing all possible evidences. They have removed the CCTV cameras from the school and have deleted the videos soon after the death of the child.
Sujata Singh, SP (rural), Gautam Budh Nagar, said: "Following the complaints of the parents, an FIR has been registered against principal Jyoti Arora and four teachers named Karuna, Indu, Kanhaiya and Chandra Shekhar in Eco-Tech III police station on Friday. We have directed the police to investigate the matter."
However Ghazal's father denied for the post-mortem examination as she was a kid and they were pained about it. Avdesh Awasthi, Station House Officer, Ecotech III police station, said: "As the FIR has been registered in the case we are on with our investigations. We will act on the case as per the treatment given to the girl. The girl's father denied a post-mortem examination and that was the only way to know the actual cause of death."
