The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested three men involved in the murder of a financier who was shot dead in Delhi's Geeta Colony in October last year.
The accused, Dilshad, Farukh Mazahar and Bilal Tansir, alias Manhar, all in their twenties were wanted in the murder case of Vinod Sharma in Geeta Colony.
The investigation of Vinod's murder revealed that his business partner Akash, had given a contract to get him eliminated by shooters hired by Dilshad from Meerut. Akash and three others Mohd Kamil, Mohd Nazim and Mohd Kamar were arrested in the case earlier and the investigation of the case was transferred to Crime Branch later. During interrogation, it was found that Akash was a financier and used to lend money on a very high rate of interest. Dilshad, a bodybuilder, used to escort Akash everywhere in order to extort money from those who had failed to repay on time. "Vinod Pandit was a partner of Akash and they shared the same office. Lately, some differences cropped between them over money. Akash shared this problem with Dilshad and asked him to arrange shooters to bump off Vinod Pandit. Dilshad contacted Waseem for this killing," said R S Yadav, Joint CP Crime.
Thereafter, Dilshad met Waseem in Dasna jail, who asked him to contact Mazhar and others. Dilshad met Mazhar and others and hatched a conspiracy to kill Vinod Pandit.
Akash also arranged weapons and gave them two country-made pistols, cartridges, two motorcycles and one mobile phone. On October 23 they checked out from the hotel and after getting direction from Akash reached at the office and fired several rounds at Vinod Pavndit and fled.
