Gambling racket busted in Shahdara, one arrested

In yet another case, an illegal casino operating out of a house in Shahdara district was busted by the Delhi Police. One person, Sameer has been arrested and Rs 2,421 in cash, one casino stock used for gambling and 34 quarters of illicit liquor were recovered from the house.

 According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara), Nupur Prasad, the case had come to light when they had received information that an illegal casino was operating out of house in Old Seelampur.  A team was constituted to investigate the case.

Two constables had acted as decoy customers and paid Rs 400 for a ten time turnover and also paid Rs 100 for illicit liquor.  When the exchange took place, the accused were arrested. Sameer informed the police during his interrogation that he was the caretaker of the casino and had offered attractive offers to make people gamble in the casino. The owner of the casino, Akash is absconding.
