Massive traffic jams on the National Highway-8 due to ongoing infrastructure works has resulted in Gurugram Traffic Police writing to National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).

The police officials have requested the NHAI to not carry out construction works during the rush hours from 9 am to 11 am in the morning and 5 pm to 9 pm in the evening.

The officials from Gurugram Traffic Police have mentioned that with already facing massive problems with huge traffic jams on NH-8, the constructions works on important stretches are further slowing down the traffic.

Besides the construction of three underpasses presently being undertaken at IFFCO Chowk, Rajiv Chowk and Signature Tower Chowk, there is also a road widening project happening in key intersections of the Delhi – Jaipur Highway.

Friday again witnessed heavy traffic on the important routes of National Highway -8.

Besides facing the problem of ongoing construction works at the highway, several stretches of the Delhi-Jaipur Highway were waterlogged. There were also complaints of the police not removing barricades which further slowed down traffic at key intersections of the highway.
