HT deputy manager dies while waiting for Metro at Sultanpur stn

A Deputy Manager working with the newspaper Hindustan Times died while he was waiting for a Metro train inside Sultanpur Metro station in South Delhi on Friday. The victim identified as Arvind Sharma, collapsed while he was waiting for a train. He was rushed to a private hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Police have ruled out any foulplay in the incident.

According to police, the incident took place on Friday morning at around 9.55 am. Arvind Sharma was waiting at platform number one and was supposed to catch a train. However, while he was waiting for the incoming train, he suddenly collapsed.

The Delhi Metro staff rushed to the spot when they received the information. They tried their best to resuscitate him but when he did not regain consciousness, they rushed him to a private hospital. "He was taken to a private hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead on arrival. We are waiting for the autopsy report to ascertain the cause of death," said a senior police official.

The Delhi Metro police have also ruled out any foulplay into the incident. "We had looked into the CCTV footage. So far, no foulplay has come to light. We have informed his brother Ashwini, who is on his way from Jaipur. Proceedings under Section 174 CrPC has been initiated," the official added.
