Five arrested for cross-firing inside market

Five persons were arrested for their involvement in a firing incident at Shahdra District area.

The police received information on January 11, regarding a quarrel and subsequent firing at B-Block, DDA Shopping Complex, Dilshad Garden. 

When the police reached the spot and found three cars in an abandoned condition, a bullet mark was found on the back door of the Fortuner car.

On further inspection, one pistol loaded with six live cartridges, 20 cartridges and three mobile phones were found in the car. Police further claimed that through mobile and vehicle numbers, the ownership details were taken and it was found that the accused Zakir was asking for protection money from Abhishek Patra who was also engaged in betting. They had called for a meeting at the location.

"Abhishek Patra, Zuber, Vicky Bhatia, Raj Sharma came to meet Zakir, Joginder Batti, Harsh Malhotra for a resolution. The meeting failed after which they opned fire at each other," said police.
