3 brave women hockey players catch snatcher

In an extraordinary show of courage, three girls gave a chase to a thief who tried to flee after snatching one of their mobile phones in the bus. The girls caught hold of the snatcher after he was chased for some distance. The Delhi Police have rewarded the girls for their bravery.

The incident was reported on January 20 from Punjabi Bagh in West Delhi at around 12 noon. The three girls boarded a bus for SPM college and were going to Peeragarhi bus stop when suddenly a boy around 19-year-old snatched one of their mobiles. The snatcher quickly deborded the bus and started running. However, the snatcher was not aware that the girls were hockey players and would beat him in strength and stamina. Soon, the girls who raced after the snatcher, caught hold of him. The snatcher 
tried to run away but was overpowered by the girls. Later, a constable who was passing by came to the rescue and nabbed the accused.

"The accused has previous snatching cases pending against him. He along with his accomplice targeted vulnerable victims. We have rewarded the girls for the bravery they showed to nab the accused," said DCP (West) Vijay Kumar.
