Aiming at improving service delivery and up-skilling for municipal services providers in the wake of requirement of a global city, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), has decided to set up a centre for excellence for Recognised Prior Learning having modern facilities at Purana Quila Road.
The announcement to this effect was made by NDMC Chairman Naresh Kumar while speaking at the opening function of Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) training workshop.
Outlining the details of the RPL Skill Development Institute, the Chairman informed that the skill development initiative would be for catering to the needs of NDMC employees and employees of other municipal bodies in Delhi with best practices in various municipal trades. The employees of institutions like CPWD, DDA, three Municipal Corporations of Delhi will be able to get RPL in this centrally located centre.
"The skill development training would be imparted to ten thousand employees of different fields of working," he said.
