MPs plant saplings at their official residences

Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh took part in the plantation drive of the New Delhi Municipal Council at the VVIPs residential area here on Saturday.
"Trees not only give us food and oxygen, but satisfy the needs of our modern life style as well," said Singh, after planting a sapling of mango tree at his official residence at A P J Abdul Kalam road. Other MPs, including Meenakashi Lekhi and Tarun Vijay also planted saplings, as part of NDMC plantation drive at their respective residences on Saturday.
Around 56,000 saplings of different species of fruits, flowers, herbals, timbers and shrubs have been planted in the third week of the Council's drive.
