New Delhi: Union Minister of Urban Affairs and Housing Hardeep Singh Puri on Sunday offered an extensive Shramdan in a park near Bhikaji Cama Place on the SMAGAR Swachhata Divas under Swachhata Hi Sewa Abhiyan.
He took around 40 minutes along with the SDMC Mayor Kamaljeet Sehrawat and Commissioner Puneet Kumar Goel to broom the area around park, pick litter and planting saplings.
The Minister was given live presentation of the process of making vermo composting and compost manure apart from display of various models prepared by SDMC Primary school students on the importance of recycling of the waste.
The minister dedicated 24 battery operated litter picker machines for the cleaning of roads, public spaces, markets etc. The machines offer highly effective and mobile solution to ensure zero emission and silent operation by providing environment friendly solution for the superior suction cleaning and disposal of litter.
Singh administered a pledge to the persons gathered there to continue working for swachhata every day and at least contributing 100 hours in a year.
He stated that a clear change has become visible in three years of the launch of Swachh Bharat Mission though more visible change and full transformation is yet to be achieved.
