Millennium City grapples with acute water shortage

Update: 2017-04-24 18:38 GMT
Large parts of Gurugram faced no water supply as the Chandu Budhera water treatment plant stopped its operations for twelve hours starting, from 8:00 am on Monday.

The operations were stopped due to the shifting of water pipelines at the Hero Honda Chowk and IFFCO Chowk. Both these intersections are currently undergoing developmental works along NH-8.

The misery for the residents further compounded after a water pipeline in the sector- 5 developed leakages and was shut down. This, in turn, affected the supply.  In reply to the mishap, the public officials responsible for water supply stated that the status of water supply will improve on Tuesday. However, they maintained that areas will still face the acute shortage. Announcements were made at the beginning of the year by the public officials towards improving the situation of water supply in the city.

Yet, most of the residents which include areas of Sushant Lok and Sector -56 continue to be under acute water shortage.
