Mika's editor arrested for burglary in Mumbai office

New Delhi: Stealing in Mumbai and hiding in Delhi did not prove to be a successful tactic for Mika's editor Ankit Wasan who was wanted by the Mumbai police for theft in Bollywood singer's office in Oshiwara Mumbai. Delhi Police arrested 27-year-old Ankit Wasan from Vikaspuri in West Delhi.

Punjabi/Hindi Bollywood Singer Amreek Singh alias Mika got a case registered on 29 July in Oshiwara, Mumbai. It was learnt that the prime suspect was from Uttam Nagar in Delhi and since then the Delhi police was looking for him.

In the CCTV footage recovered from the singer's house in Mumbai, only the associates can be seen entering and leaving the house at the suspected time of the robbery. The complaint said that the suspect has been missing since then. It was then the suspect's information was shared with Delhi Police by Mumbai Police.

A team was formed under the supervision of Kirti Nagar SHO Anil Sharma to locate and arrest the accused. The Delhi police team got an input that the accused has been hiding near his girlfriend's house in Vikaspuri. Immediately, the team raided the house and the accused Ankit Vasan was arrested.

"The accused confessed that he has been working with singer Mika as an editor for 15 years and was clandestinely stealing cash and valuables regularly. However, on 29 July after being noticed by the singer, the accused fled from the studio and for two days he was hiding at places in Mumbai. He landed in Delhi on Wednesday morning," said DCP West Vijay Kumar.

The Delhi Police recovered $6,900, Rs 50,000 and Rs 5 lakh kept in three banks accounts totalling Rs 10,83000. Hard Disc containing music software and keys of the studio were also recovered from him.
