New Delhi: SDMC Mayor inspected corporation schools in Malviya Nagar area. She also participated in Swacchta Shramdaan Campaign and encourage the citizens and traders to participate and contribute in Swacchta hi Sewa and single-use plastic ban campaign in the Malviya Nagar market.
She said large scale citizens engagement activities for awareness and community mobilisation through Shramdan, clean and green drives, Swachhta pledges, Swachhta rallies and other programs aimed at mass scale plastic waste collection and disposal and elimination of single-use plastic will be organised in all parts of the SDMC localities. The mayor held discussions with local citizens, businessmen and residents and listened to their difficulties and problems.
Mayor visited several corporation schools in Malviya Nagar ward and instructed the officials of the Education Department to maintain the quality of mid-day meal. SDMC Mayor in order to assess the quality of mid-day meal took a few items and instructed the education department to keep a close eye on the quality since the food is meant for the students and all cautions must be taken to overcome
any possibility of ill effect on their health.
She instructed the Principal to depute two or three teachers to assess the quality of the mid-day meal every day. Further, cleanliness must be ensured before and after distribution of mid-day meal.
Mayor also inspected parks of the ward and stressed the need to improve them.
He instructed the officials of the Horticulture Department that within 10 days
proper improvement should be seen in these parks. Wherever there are cracks in the boundary wall, it should be repaired and the greenery should be protected.
