New Delhi: Aiming to clear vagrants and wanderers from the entry/exit of prominent Metro stations, the Delhi
Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has deployed 40-45 Marshalls to keep a watch on people blocking the movement and creating bottleneck for passengers.
DMRC officials said that local civic and police authorities are working in close coordination to stop such practices outside the entry/exit gates.
Moreover, DMRC has undertaken other initiatives across prominent Metro stations and all of its trains.
According to a DMRC statement, a number of stations across its network (such as Shahdara, Welcome, Kashmere Gate, New Delhi, Noida City Centre, Karol Bagh, Anand Vihar, Laxmi Nagar, Govindpuri, Badarpur etc.) have been identified, where additional housekeeping staff are deployed, whose job is to keep the immediate station surroundings clean and prevent public from soiling the area.
