Man posed as junior doctor in AIIMS to get relative treated

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a man posing as a doctor from AIIMS, who put on the doctor's guise to facilitate the treatment of a family members.
According to police, the accused was identified as Adnan, a resident of village Baradi Baireya in East Champaran of Bihar. He had been living in Batla House in Jamia Nagar for some time.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Romil Baaniya said, "He was impersonating as a doctor at AIIMS and produced a booklet of AIIMS, which can be only possessed by junior doctors at the institute, having his name written on it."
He added that a case under sections 419 and 468 of the IPC has been filed.
During investigation, police came to know that Adnan had done this so as to get a close family member admitted in the premier hospital for treatment of her serious illness.
This is not the first time a case of impersonation has been reported from AIIMS.
In February, Delhi Police had received a complaint from AIIMS about an imposter who claimed tp be a doctor of the Trauma Centre, but did not produce a suitable identity.
