Man murders wife post scuffle

NEW DELHI: A man was arrested by Delhi police for murdering his wife with a knife and later fleeing from the spot after leaving her wife in a pool of blood in South Delhi's Neb Sarai.

Police said that they received a call in the intervening night of July 31 and 1 August from JJ colony, Khanpur.

Immediately, a team was rushed to the spot. The woman was shifted to the hospital in an injured condition.

"During the enquiry, it has surfaced that there was a quarrel between the injured Renu with her husband. She came out of the house in an injured condition after her husband ran away from the spot and the neighbours shifted her to hospital. She was declared brought dead," said DCP South Romil Baaniya.

A team was constituted and raids were conducted at the possible hideouts of the accused Rajesh Singh Chauhan, who was later arrested. The couple is having a 3-year-old child. The husband works as a chef in a hotel.
